Liberati Dracones
For as far back as our country, Mistralla's, history went, there was always reoccurring tales passed down from generation to generation. Tales of giant "lizards", savage "snakes" with wings and forest fires being the work of a cave dwelling "crocodile". However, these were always the stories of "well traveled" men who had come to visit Mistralla whilst sailing away from their home to discover new lands. We always assumed that such creatures would never make their homes here, not in a country so small and with so little to offer.
We had very little wildlife in our country, mostly because of our incredibly infertile soil which would rarely produce any crops for animals, or even us to live on. We relied heavily on imports from neighboring countries that would ship in every week on large boats.
However, sometimes unexpected surprises would arrive from these boats. Sometimes the odd good for nothing would try smuggling in gold or rare eggs from birds and reptiles to eat or sell. Anything to make money in this country was a fair idea and anyone would go for it.
One evening though, a ship was sailing near the shore of Mistralla, ready to unload it's cargo for this week to our shores. A small handful of eager children, teenagers and adults alike waited at the beach for the ship to come in and deliver what would keep us all satiated for another week.
The boat snuck in closer and closer, until we could almost see the colors of the flag that it was flying on it's wooden mast, and then suddenly, what could only be described as a huge unknown serpent like creature, smashed into the side of the boat, pushing it off course. When all seemed calm for a minute or so after the random attack, the monster reared up out of the water, flopping down heavily in the middle of the frail wooden boat, snapping it clean in two like it was nothing more than a thin sheet of glass. The ship was soon completely obliterated and not even so much as a glimpse of the creature was seen again.
The handful of people that had witnessed the attack religiously attended the beach every morning, just to see if any survivors had managed to get washed up onto the shore. What they didn't expect to find though, was a completely undamaged crate, full of large, mysteriously colored eggs...all of which had cracked surfaces and were trembling as if they were ready to hatch...

Story:
We are the group of young men and women who unfortunately witnessed the devastating ship attack by the mysterious monster in the ocean 10 years ago. Each of us had returned to the beach days after the shipwreck to check for survivors, but only found a crate full of mysterious eggs.
As each egg looked like it was about to hatch, we each agreed to take one and raise whatever was inside. As time went on, each egg hatched into a small baby dragon, a creature long thought to be a fairy tale of foreign lands and the men who told them. Bound by a pact to look after the youngsters however, we each had to raise the mighty creatures, making an unbreakable bond with each of them, and becoming what our country now calls "The Dragon Breakers".
As members of The Dragon Breakers, we have earned the responsibility to keep the country safe from starvation, crime and war. Though the lingering problems of what exactly took out the ship, and why the dragons were being sent here on the ship in the first place are still a mystery, and a mystery that needs to be solved...
Rules:
Abide by all normal Vivir a la Roleplay rules.
No Power-playing. We are all equals in this roleplay, so no killing everything in 1 hit and never getting hurt and generally being "Too Powerful"
No God-Modding. We all have our own characters for a reason. So we DON'T have to take over other people's.
Stick to the plot. If you have any side plots, put them past me first. Otherwise just stick to the plot as it is and have fun with it!
Try to keep grammar good and consistent. It helps if we can read what you're typing.
Try your best to post more than just a couple of lines. It keeps the roleplay interesting and gives the next poster more to work with for their post.
Keep OOC speech in ((Brackets)) and character's thoughts in Italics.
