    The Battle of Stalingrad
    November 23, 1942
    Stalingrad, The Soviet Union

After a year of fighting, the Nazis have brought The Soviet Union to its knees. The Nazis have ravaged the country, killing innocents and civilians alike for the sole purpose of the fuhrers ideology. After a barely halted advance on Moscow, the fuhrer now demands a way to humiliate Stalin. The Germans found their way in Stalingrad. The mass of German forces now assault the city. They had not expected a Russian response, but met the full wrath of the Red Army. Both sides pour men in to kill or be killed. After several months, the Germans now have the upper hand.

These, are the darkest days of the Nazi occupation of Stalingrad.

"GruppenFurhrer! It's so cold! where are the new Winter supplies!" Rudolph yelled to Klara while hugging himself trying to stay warm.

Klara sat in the Cupola of her Tiger sipping warm tea with her thick leather black trench coat on over her uniform. She would normally be wearing a skirt with black thigh high socks and boots, but today she was wearing the full Parachute pants that normal male officers would be seen wearing.

"Ich Wiess nicht Rudolf. Just get over it and return to your post! Schnell!" she barked at him. The sounds of guns blazing in the distance, her Tiger and panzer platoon were held up just outside the city where they had command posts and radio lines set up to Berlin. The OBer and OberstgruppenFurhrer had told her that her father requested her platoon to be the Command post defense so she wouldn't have to risk her life fighting in the city. She was one of the Few women in the Military and only the second to hold a high ranking officer position. Hell the only reason she was allowed was because of her impressive Panzer skills that Hitler saw personally on the factory grounds. She was before all this just messing around with the new panzers coming of the production line, until her father yelled at her in front of the Furhrer. However the Furhrer saw potential and thus she worked her way up to the Obergruppenfurhrer.

=^="spssshhh Klara, dis is Der Oberst, I need an artillery strike at.........."=^= He went on with the coordinates.

=^= "Ja woll mien Furhrer" =^= she hung up the radio phone that was on her panzer. "Actung! all artillery firing on coordinates....." She said them.

The Guns fired and around the battling soviets, buildings began to crumble and shells ravaged the streets. The Soviets had to take cover and Quickly!!

"Dimitri, you there commander. What's the plan here? I have a tank company at my disposal. Just give me the word, and I'll go." Alexander Volkov came over the radio, his upper half was hanging outside the top of his T34. His Ushanka adoring his head, his pistol strapped to his chest right next to his knife, and of course his SMG was hanging by a sling on his back.

"Another artillery bombardment. Move your tanks up to the enemy lines in the square. Let them die by their own weapons! We will reinforce you shortly." He shut off the radio, and looked at the German position just outside the city. "Pack it up Viktor." He ordered, and the soldier silently obliged. They were in a large hotel, in the southern area of the city. It was a small squad, four men, including him. He was using his rifle to see what the Germans were doing. After seeing the artillery move up, it seemed all they were doing now was complaining about the cold. They think its cold now... And its only November. The group stood, and began making their way out of the building. They had to get to the tank company soon. There actually seemed no reason to call it a tank company. They had only three tanks in the southern area of the city. That and getting a tank across the Volga would be hell. They made their way to the street below, and soon saw their forces moving to the square.

"Understood Dimitri. Comrades, the order is to push up, have them fire on their own men." With that said Alexander had his driver take the lead of the company. "Dimitri, can you give me any specifics, where are they, I prefer to not go into everything blind."

"Klara, the enemy is advancing. Here are your new bombardment orders." He radioed in.

Klara just followed orders at this point, but she was unaware of the fact that her commander was going to sacrifice a platoon of soldiers who were recruited in Poland. She cared for her men deep down regardless of their beliefs. This was why she was apart of the plot to assassinate the Furhrer. The first attempt was a miserable failure, the bomb on board Hitlers plane never went off and the man holding the bomb to sacrifice himself, walked off with the bomb still in his brief case to never detonate.

Soon Alexander had to duck down into his tank. Ready to wait out the artillery fire, that and the platoon of Germans had just came into sight. "Dimitri, orders are being carried out. So far Tanks have taken light damage. Most of the heavy fire has been dealt to the enemy. infantry should be clear to move up in a little bit." he came over the radio again, the sounds of explosions ringing clearly in the background. For now Alexander's group of T-34 had been able to hold out.

"Roger that." He replied. His squad moved with a couple others to the battle in the square. The street they moved along had one T34, two sandbag defenses on either side, and a couple squads in the buildings on either side. The artillery barrage had miraculously not destroyed any tanks, and mainly hit buildings and enemy troops. The artillery seemed to have slowed, but not stopped. Dimitri's ears rang as he ran up to a sandbag on the right side of the tank. He pulled his PPSH out, and started peppering the enemy position.

The square was simply a park with several roads coming in on every side. The park was surrounded by a low stone wall that had collapsed in several places but provided good cover to the Germans. The inside was dominated by craters in the soft ground and ruined pathways; and a large, drained fountain in the middle, a remnant of Stalingrad's past. The most the Germans had as armor were some half-tracks spread around the square. They were dug in, but not invincible. The Russians stuck to the buildings and streets that entered the area.

"Dimitri, you give the order, and we'll fire on whatever position you wish to have taken out." Alexander called out, being as his tank was the one in between the sand bag defenses. There the commander stood, his PPSH-43 in hand, as he hung out the top of the tank. The only reason he had his rifle, was due to the fact that he didn't want any German's getting too close to his precious tank.

"Take out the half-tracks!" He ordered. He peaked out of cover, using the last of a drum mag to suppress some Germans behind the low wall. He quickly reloaded, crouching back behind the sandbags. He turned to the man at his side, patting him on the shoulder. "Your in charge of this squad now. I'm changing positions. Try not to die comrade." With that he got up, running behind the tank and shadowed a building nearby. Safely reaching a similar set up to the other street, but with Alexander's tank. He crouched down behind the sandbags next to it, and decided to wait for the artillery to stop before issuing more orders.

The loud thunderous sound of Artillery guns rang through the air once more. The shells rained down on the city and kicked up a storm of dust and debris. Klara thought to herself about another possible way to assassinating the Furhrer. The group who sawt to kill him were planning another attempt and it was suppose to be soon.

"Alright, half-tracks, now!" Alexander called to his tank crew. As he spoke the turret turned, aiming at one of the half-tracks. Within seconds a shell impacted the vehicle, leaving a smoldering wreck in its wake. It didn't take too much longer, before another shell was loaded, and fired at another half-track. "Dimitri, next order? Half-tracks are down."

"Just shoot shit, idiot!" He yelled. A tank commander asking an infantrymen for orders? He popped out of cover, spraying the Germans with his SMG before crouching back down. One of the T34s had moved up near a the wreck of a half track. Some soldiers had moved with it, using it as cover as the battle slowly turned in their favor. A familiar sound echoed over the city and through the thunderous beat of artillery. "Get down! Get in cover! Stuka incoming!" He commanded, and watched as the plane screeched into a dive, right on the square. It pulled up as it dropped a 500lb bomb. The bomb landed straight on top of a T34. It shot a huge cloud of dust and flames into the air, easily dwarfing the tank itself. Dimitri leaned out, chancing a look at the vehicle. The tank slowly came to view as some of the dust cleared. It had turned from a impressive war machine, to a charred wreck in less then a second. Flames spewed from the blown out hatches and it was obvious no soldier near it survived. He put himself firmly back in cover as the battle continued around him.

"Shit, my lord. That's the tenth one this fucking week. You bastards, you're dead to me!" Alexander called out at the German's, ordering another shell to be fired into the Wermacht's lines. Watching as another building's wall crumbled under the main gun's fire.

The artillery barrage had stopped, and now Dimitri felt the battle fully in their favor. "Charge comrades! Forward! Overwhelm them!" He ordered. He climbed a top Alexander's tank, and watched as the Soviets overran the remaining Germans with a ferocity like none other. His face turned dark, knowing that victories such as this had become rare.

"Repeat last!" Elsa's Führer commander of her. She didn't say a word instead she gave a hand signal and the artillery fired again. this time all the artillery shells rained down on her fuhrer's panzer and completely annihilated it. The German command tank was in flames much resembling that dive bombed T34. The German forces were running in full retreat back to Klara's command post. "I want comms established with the Soviets." she ordered to her radio man. Now that her commander was dead, this put her in charge of the entire platoon.

"No retreat men, no surrender, charge!" Alexander yelled out as his tank advanced forward on the Germans. Aiming down the sights of his PPSH, he sprayed at the retreating soldiers. Leaving several dead on the ground. However he chose to save tank shells for the time, he just used the tank as mobile batteing ram.

"Yes comrade." Alexander replied, lower his weapon and signalling to his driver to turn around and head towards base. "I'm just surprised you want to leave our troops to do the rest. Instead of getting your own hands dirty. However I do understand it's most likely wiser not to risk another tank on this assault."

"Alle Panzer, Vergehen!" Her panzers all shifted into drive and moved towards the city. her forces moved into to support the Armor and relieve the retreating German forces. "All units, Lets show these Coomies a true leader! after this battle we will be free of the Fuhrer soon enough!" The men rallied with a cry and the newly spirited division moved into blockading positions to attempt to cut the city completely of it's reinforcements and supplies.

"Alexander, we're getting reports over the radio about advancing German armor. What actions do you want to take here?" Called the voice of the T-34's radio operator.

Alexander looked back at Dimitri, sighing a bit, "They just haven't had enough, have they? Commander, any ideas?"

The tank struggled over the rubble of half destroyed buildings as it made its way to the command station. This rubble is giving us hell... If only we could... "Comrade, put this tank at the end of the road." Dimitri ordered Alexander. As the tank made its way there Dimitri jumped off and ordered all the other soldiers under him into positions in the other buildings overlooking the way from the square. He gestured for Alexander to follow him once everything was underway.

"Our victory in the square was nothing. All the men there right now will be dead soon." He reached a large hotel that was miraculously still standing, despite the holes inside and the rubble scattered about. Dimitri started up the stares, heading for the top floor. "No doubt the enemy commander is making a last ditch effort to break our lines. He is foolish. We will be the sniper that takes his head from his cupola." He turned half way up looking down at the Commander in the eyes, and closed his fist until it was pure white. "We will show this coward the true face of war, and wipe their existence away like that rat they are." He turned and continued making his way up, till they reached the top floor. He moved to a window looking out toward the Germans, and crouched down. He brought his rifle out and steadied it on the edge of the window, and sighted in on the column that was approaching down the road.
